V2000 Series (Zen 2)
 +

 +
Launched in November 2020, the processors of the V2000 embedded series are based on the in a single monolithic die fabricated on a TSMC 7 nm process, doubling the performance per Watt and core count over the prior generation, and increasing IPC by 15%. These SoCs come in either hexa-core or octa-core models with SMT and a integrated graphics processor with 6 or 7 compute units in .
 +

 +
The codename "Grey Hawk" is unconfirmed. The V2000 series appears to be an offshoot to the Ryzen 4000 mobile processor series codenamed "" which launched in March 2020 and identifies with 0x00860F01 (Family 17h, Model 60h, Stepping 1). All V2000 models have the following features:
 +

 +
* Mem: Dual-channel 64-bit DDR4-3200 w/ECC, up to 64 GiB, or quad-channel 32-bit LPDDR4x-4266, up to 32 GiB
 +
* Gfx: Up to 4 independent displays, maximum resolution 4096 × 2160 pixels, DisplayPort 1.4, eDP 1.3, HDMI 2.1, DirectX 12, OpenCL, OpenGL, Vulkan API. AMD did not disclose if two display interfaces are shared with the USB 3.1 Type-C ports as in the prior generation.
 +
* MM: 4K 10/8-bit HVEC, 10/8-bit VP9 and H.264 decode support, 4K 10/8-bit HVEC and H.264 encode support
 +
* I/O: Up to 20 PCIe lanes and 9 links total, up to 2 SATA ports with SATA Express support, 8 USB ports (4 USB 3.1 10 Gb/s ports, two of these supporting Type-C connectors with DisplayPort Alternate Mode and PD capability, 4 USB 2.0 ports). The PCIe lanes can be configured as one x8 link and three x4 General Purpose Ports. The x8 link is apparently intended to connect an external graphics card and presumably supports a 2x4 configuration. The GPP links presumably support x2 and x1 link widths. Two x4 GPP links can be configured as NVMe interface. AMD did not disclose if the SATA links are multiplexed with one GPP lane each as in the prior generation. The following low speed interfaces are available: 1 × 4-wire or 2 × 2-wire UART, 4 × I2C, 2 × SMBus, LPC, SPI, GPIO. SoundWire. The GbE, eMMC, SD, I2S, and HDA interfaces available on V1000 processors were not advertised for these models.
 +
* TDP: 10-54 W with cTDP-up and cTDP-down options
 +
* ISA: Everything up to (i.e. SMM, FPU, NX, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, FMA3), AES, and SHA
 +
* Tech: Precision Boost, 2-way SMT, presumably AMD-Vi and AMD-V, Secure Memory Encryption (SME). If Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) is supported is unknown.
 +
* L3$: 8 MiB
 +

 +
Like the prior generation, the V2000 series includes a Secure Processor (PSP) and supports Secure Boot with one-time programmable capabilities for key management as well as memory encryption. AMD offers 10 years availability for all embedded products.

Ryzen Embedded is a family of 64-bit multi-core x86 embedded microprocessors designed and introduced by AMD. Those processors are primarily aimed at medical imaging, industrial systems, digital gaming and thin clients. Ryzen Embedded effectively succeeded the Embedded R-Series embedded microprocessors.

Overview[edit]

The Ryzen Embedded family is a low-power variant of the Ryzen line that primarily targets graphics-driven embedded devices such as medical imaging, industrial systems, digital gaming and thin clients. Those parts have lower TDPs and offer configurable I/O for system designers.

Members[edit]

V1000 Series (Zen)[edit]

V2000 Series (Zen 2)[edit]

See also: Grey Hawk and Zen 2 µarch

Launched in November 2020, the processors of the V2000 embedded series are based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture in a single monolithic die fabricated on a TSMC 7 nm process, doubling the performance per Watt and core count over the prior generation, and increasing IPC by 15%. These SoCs come in either hexa-core or octa-core models with SMT and a Vega integrated graphics processor with 6 or 7 compute units in package FP6.

The codename "Grey Hawk" is unconfirmed. The V2000 series appears to be an offshoot to the Ryzen 4000 mobile processor series codenamed "Renoir" which launched in March 2020 and identifies with CPUID 0x00860F01 (Family 17h, Model 60h, Stepping 1). All V2000 models have the following features:

 • Mem: Dual-channel 64-bit DDR4-3200 w/ECC, up to 64 GiB, or quad-channel 32-bit LPDDR4x-4266, up to 32 GiB
 • Gfx: Up to 4 independent displays, maximum resolution 4096 × 2160 pixels, DisplayPort 1.4, eDP 1.3, HDMI 2.1, DirectX 12, OpenCL, OpenGL, Vulkan API. AMD did not disclose if two display interfaces are shared with the USB 3.1 Type-C ports as in the prior generation.
 • MM: 4K 10/8-bit HVEC, 10/8-bit VP9 and H.264 decode support, 4K 10/8-bit HVEC and H.264 encode support
 • I/O: Up to 20 PCIe lanes and 9 links total, up to 2 SATA ports with SATA Express support, 8 USB ports (4 USB 3.1 10 Gb/s ports, two of these supporting Type-C connectors with DisplayPort Alternate Mode and PD capability, 4 USB 2.0 ports).
 • TDP: 10-54 W with cTDP-up and cTDP-down options
 • ISA: Everything up to AVX2 (i.e. SMM, FPU, NX, MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, FMA3), AES, and SHA
 • Tech: Precision Boost, 2-way SMT, presumably AMD-Vi and AMD-V, Secure Memory Encryption (SME). If Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) is supported is unknown.
 • L3$: 8 MiB

Like the prior generation, the V2000 series includes a Secure Processor (PSP) and supports Secure Boot with one-time programmable capabilities for key management as well as memory encryption. AMD offers 10 years availability for all embedded products.
