Snapdragon 7 Series Mobile Platforms is a family of mid-range 64-bit ARM SoCs designed primarily for the upper mid-range mainstream smartphone market. Introduced in early 2018, the family is positioned somewhere between the Snapdragon 6 and the Snapdragon 8 series, providing a couple of key premium features only found in the 8 Series at a slightly lower price points.
Overview[edit]
Announced in early 2018, the Snapdragon 7 Series Mobile Platform is designed to offer models with high performance and key premium features that were previously only available in the high-end Snapdragon 8 Series family. In practice, this family now includes the high-end SKUs from the Snapdragon 6 Series with the 6 series effectively getting split up with the higher-end models getting updated as 7-series models and offering slightly more features. Some of the added features include advanced camera functionalities and Qualcomm's Artificial Intelligence Engine (AIE).
