The Snapdragon 700 Mobile Platform is a family of 64-bit ARM system on chips introduced by Qualcomm in early 2018 for the premium mid-range smartphone market. The family is positioned somewhere between the Snapdragon 600 and the Snapdragon 800 series, providing a couple of key premium features only found in the 800 series at slightly lower price points.
Overview
Announced in early 2018, the Snapdragon 700 Mobile Platform is designed to offer models with high performance and key premium features that were previously only available in the high-end Snapdragon 800 family. In practice, this family now includes the high-end SKUs from the Snapdragon 600 with the 600 series effectively getting split up with the higher-end models getting updated as 700-series models and offering slightly more features. Some of the added features include advanced camera functionalities and Qualcomm's Artificial Intelligence Engine (AIE).
