Succession

z13 was a z/Architecture-based microarchitecture designed by IBM and introduced in 2015 for their z13 processors and mainframes. The z13 microarchitecture replaced the z12.

Process Technology

The z13 microprocessors were manufactured on GlobalFoundries's 22 nm process. Note that this East Fishkill, New York 22 nm fabrication plant is IBM's own fab that has been sold to GlobalFoundries the previous year.
