The Rockwell PPS-4/2 (PPS-4/2) was a 4-bit microprocessor designed by Rockwell International. The chip, which was the second generation of the PPS-4, first produced at the 3rd quarter of 1975. The chip came in a 42-pin quadruple in-line package and was fabricated using metal gate technology.

System

Similarly to the Intel 4004, the Rockwell PPS-4 required two additional support chips: a clock generator and ROM memory. The chip came in a 42-pin QIP package. 12 I/O terminals are available for general purpose I/O.
