The Atom x3, formally SoFIA (Smart of Feature Phone with Intel Architecture), is a family of ultra-low power 64-bit system on chips first introduced by Intel in early 2015. The x3 is the low-end family of processors designed for the mobile market below the x5 and x7 families - particularly targeting entry and value smartphones, phablets, and tablets. This is Intel's first family of chips featuring a cellular modem. The chips are available in both 4G LTE 5-band modem as well as 2G/3G modem versions. Atom x3 SoCs incorporate the Mali GPU.

Overview

The Atom x3 family was originally announced on March 2, 2015 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The family was designed to be an introductory level low-cost system on chips integrated cellular modem for smart phones. The x3 feature Intel's first chips with a cellular modem, an attempt to enter the entry-level smartphone market.
