Fairchild Semiconductor International, Inc. is an American semiconductor company. Founded in 1957 as the Fairchild Camera and Instrument, Fairchild was bought by Schlumberger in 1979 and was sold to National Semiconductor in 1987. In 1997 National spun off Fairchild as an independent company. In 2015 ON Semiconductor acquired Fairchild for $2.4 billion.
