Kryo is a series of semi-custom ARM cores from Arm integrated by Qualcomm in their Snapdragon SoCs.
Overview[edit]
The Kryo series of cores are the successor Qualcomm's Krait cores. Unlike Krait, Kryo cores are not Qualcomm's own design but rather a semi-custom implementation of Arm's own Cortex cores.
Kryo cores usually come in two variants - termed Gold and Silver - denoting the underlying microarchitecture. The Silver variants utilize Arm's Cortex A ultra-low-power cores while the Gold variants utilize the high-performance cores instead. The two cores are combines using Arm's big.LITTLE or DynamIQ architecture.
