Am186Cx is a family of 16-bit communications-oriented microcontrollers developed by AMD. These MCUs incorporated the Am186 core along with a variety of communications features such as High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC), Universal Serial Bus (USB), High-Speed UART, and Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI).
Overview
The Am186Cx is a family of communication-oriented microcontrollers that incorporated the Am186 core along with a number of other units. AMD introduced a number of series including: Am186CU, Am186CH, Am186CC.
All MCUs include the following base features:
- High-Speed UART with autobaud
- Synchronous serial interface (SSI)
- 3x programmable 16-bit timers
- Hardware watchdog timer
- 4x General-purpose DMA channels
- 48x Programmable I/O ports
- 36x maskable interrupts
- Interrupt Controller
- Integrated DRAM controller
- 14x chip selects (8x peripherals, 6x memory)
- Multiplexed and nonmultiplexed address/data bus
