Jazelle-DBX (Jazelle Direct Bytecode eXecution) or simplyJazelle is an ARM instruction set extension intended for the acceleration of Java program. First announced in 2005, Jazelle was introduced in ARMv5TEJ.
The introduction of Just-In-Time (JIT) compilers along with faster processors and larger capacity memory have diminished the value proposition of this extension. Today, Jazelle is largely obsolete.
