MSM2 (Mobile Station Modem 2) was Qualcomm's third generation of mobile chipsets implementing a CDMA modem System on Chip.
Overview
The MSM2 is a dual-mode (CDMA/AMPS) and digital processor system on chip. The chip incorporated a CDMA processor, a digital FM processor (DFM), Qualcomm's codebook-excited linear prediction} (CELP), and an Intel 80186 processor core. The MSM2 works tightly with a number of support chips that provide facilities for handling everything from FM to audio.
