Succession

A13 Bionic is a 64-bit hexa-core ARM high-performance mobile system on a chip introduced by Apple in September 2019 as a successor to the A12.

Overview

Fabricated on TSMCs enhanced N7P process, the A13 integrates 8.5 billion transistors to feature two big Lightning cores operating at up to 2.65 GHz and four little Thunder high-efficiency cores operating at up to 1.80 GHz.

Apple claims a performance gain of 20% speed and 30% lower power consumption than its predecessor A12.

Neural Engine

Like its predecessor, the A13 Bionic is equipped with a specialized machine learning processor called the "Neural Engine". Apple claims the A13's Neural Engine is 20% faster while consuming 15% less power than its predecessor
