Core i7-7820X is a 64-bit octa-core high-performance x86 desktop microprocessor introduced by Intel in mid-2017. This chip, which is based on the Skylake microarchitecture, is fabricated on Intel's enhanced 14nm+ process. The i7-7820X operates at 3.6 GHz with a TDP of 140 W and a Turbo Boost frequency of 4.3 GHz. The processor supports up to 128 GiB of quad-channel DDR4-2666 memory.
In addition to its Turbo Boost frequency, the i7-7820X has a Turbo Max frequency of 4.5 GHz.

Overclocking
The 7820x CPU overclocks to 4.6ghz on all cores relatively easily and 4.8ghz on all cores is also pretty common overclock. 4.9 and 5.0ghz can be tricky but are not uncommon and only obtainable if sufficient cooling is achieved. Generally, 4.5Ghz is a common overclock on quality air coolers and beyond that water-cooling is needed for sustained higher overclocks.
Stock out of the box using Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 Frequency the CPU will overclock 2 cores to 4.5ghz.
The quad memory controller of the Skylake-X CPUs have advanced overclocking ability such as in the case of Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600mhz memory will easily overclock to 3,800mhz - 4,000mhz. At 3,800mhz total memory bandwidth is around 101GB/s Read and 107GB/s Write with Copy at 97.2GB/s.
