MSM5100 (Mobile Station Modem 5100) was a family of mobile CDMA2000 system-on-chips introduced by Qualcomm in 2001. This family is largely based and pin-compatible with the MSM3300 family (A IS-95A design).

Overview

Qualcomm introduced the MSM3300-derivative in early 2000. Both the chipset and system software are pin-compatible with the 3300. The 5100 incorporated gpsOne GPS positioning, Bluetooth, and a number of multimedia features such as Qtunes MPEG-1, MP3, Compact Media Extension (CME), and Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) multimedia software.
