Michael Larson
Michael Larson was an American contestant on the television game show Press Your Luck in 1984 where he won $110,237 in a single game, the largest single-day reward won on a game show a time. Larson managed to "beat the odds" of the game through his intimate knowledge of the lack of randomness of the game board. Larson's story is often cited in many computer engineering courses in the context of pseudorandom number generator (PRNG) designs.
