The '''NEC μPD751''' (also '''NEC 751''') is a [[4-bit architecture|4-bit]] [[microcontroller]] developed by [[NEC]] in March of 1973. This chip was the first Japanese single-chip [[microprocessor]]. The chip combined NEC's previous 4-bit microprocessor which came in 2 chips, the {{nec|μPD707}} and the {{nec|μPD708}} into a single chip after being inspired by the {{intel|4004}}.
