Thee Core i7 family uses the Bloomfield, Nehalem, Westmere, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Haswell microarchitectures implementations. The family was first launched in late 2008[1]. The Core i7, along with the core i3 and i5, was designed as the successor to the Intel Core 2 brand.
