BLX IC Design Corporation, Ltd (Beijing Shenzhou Longxin also Shenzhou Godson Company) is a Chinese fabless semiconductor company. BXL was spun-off from Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICT) in 2002 through government funding. BLX was established in an attempt to advance the Chinese semiconductor industry.
BLX was responsible for the sale of Godson 1 and later Godson processors, although they were largely uncompetitive in both price and performance compared to contemporary solutions (i.e., Intel's). The majority of orders came from state-owned firms through companies such as Dawning and Lenovo.
In 2006, ICT appear to have sold its controlling stake in the company and by 2010 they spun-off Loongson along with their much more successful Godson 3 processors.
