Gen7 (Generation 7) is the microarchitecture for Intel's graphics processing unit utilized by Ivy Bridge-based microprocessors. Gen7 is the successor to Gen6 used by Sandy Bridge. The Gen7 microarchitecture is designed separately by Intel and then integrated onto the same Ivy Bridge SoC die.
