Gen8 (Generation 8) is the microarchitecture for Intel's graphics processing unit utilized by Broadwell-based microprocessors. Gen8 is the successor to Gen7.5 used by Haswell. The Gen8 microarchitecture is designed separately by Intel and then integrated onto the same Broadwell SoC die.
