Kryo is a series of semi-custom ARM cores from Arm integrated by Qualcomm in their Snapdragon SoCs.

Overview

The Kryo series of cores are the successor Qualcomm's Krait cores. Unlike Krait, Kryo cores are not Qualcomm's own design but rather a semi-customer implementation of Arm's own Cortex cores.

Kryo cores usually come in two variants - termed Gold and Silver - denoting the underlying microarchitecture. The Silver variants utilize Arm's Cortex A ultra-low-power cores while the Gold variants utilize the high-performance cores instead. The two cores are combines using Arm's big.LITTLE or DynamIQ architecture.
