MCST (Moscow Center of SPARC Technologies) is a Russian company that develops multi-core microprocessors with the original parallel Elbrus architecture (VLIW architecture) and hardware implementation of information security. The company also develops processors based on the SPARC architecture.
“MCST” was founded in 1992, after the USSR disappeared and Soviet state computer enterprises were abolished. The main office of the “MCST” company is located in Moscow[2].
The MCST company develops its products in close cooperation with the Bruk Institute for Electronic Control Computers (INEUM)[3].
MCST microprocessors are used in computing systems with high requirements for information security and protection against hacking. Computers with Elbrus processors are used in the armed forces of Russia and in government agencies. For example, the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation in 2016 began replacing IBM servers with servers on the platform of the Elbrus processor[4].
