The μPD557L or μCOM-43SL is a general-purpose 4-bit microcontroller introduced in 1980 by NEC. This MCU is a 28-pin, low-power part of the μCOM-43 family, working with a reduced supply voltage of -8.0 VGG. This model has open-drain outputs capable of being pulled to -35V, allowing direct driving of Vacuum Fluorescent Displays.
