Loongson Technology Co. Ltd. is a Chinese fabless semiconductor company that primarily focuses on high-performance consumer microprocessors. Loongson was founded in April of 2010 through the cooperation Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICT) and the Loongson development team along with the Beijing Municipal Government in an effort to redirect the Godson project form research and development to commercialization.
The Godson Project, which was started by ICT, became one of the most famous and most successful series of indigenous microprocessors in China.
