2x for 6x multiplier info on the K6-x line.[edit]

With the K6-2 and K6-III line using the multiplier of 2x in the BIOS was actually swapped for 6x in the CPU itself, mostly for compatibility with 66MHz and 83MHz bus boards so you could get close to the rated 450MHz.

Anyone remember when that was added to the K6 line?

I know I had a K6-2 500 (ran @ 550) that could run the 6x multiplier but wasn't stable.

My K6-III+ 450 mobile CPU (in my desktop) ran 600MHz all day long, actually faster than my Duron 700 in most tasks
