SuperSPARC SPARC

UltraSPARC was a family of 64-bit SPARC microprocessors designed by Sun Microsystems as a successor to SuperSPARC. Initial launched in late 1995, the UltraSPARC family was Sun's first series of processors based on the then-new 64-bit SPARC V9 architecture.

Members

UltraSPARC-I

Introduced on October 2 1995, the UltraSPARC-I (STP1030A) were Sun's first set of 64-bit microprocessors based on the SPARC V9 architecture. Fabricated on Texas Instruments's 0.5 micron EPIC3 QLM process.
