Desktop

Intel released the desktop Skylake-based budget processors in late 2015. All desktop models utilize the LGA-1151 socket which is used for most of the Skylake desktop lineup. Kaby Lake µarch

Desktop

Desktop Kaby Lake-based budget Pentium processors were introduced in early 2017. Those models use standard Socket LGA-1151. Those are the first series of desktop Pentium processors to introduce hyper-threading support (note that mobile models already had this feature in previous generation). While no other major new features were introduced, those Kaby Lake Pentium models enjoy a modest performance increase due to their slightly higher clock frequency.
