Socket LGA-1151 (Socket H4 or LGA14C) is the socket used by Intel for their Skylake, Kaby Lake, and Coffee Lake-based processors. This socket accepts Intel's 1151-pin flip-chip land grid array (FCLGA-1151) packages. This socket is used for Intel's 6th generation, 7th generation, and 8th generation Core, Pentium, Celeron, Xeon E3, and Xeon E processors. This socket comes in two distinct versions which are NOT compatible with each other. The first type is compatible with Skylake and Kaby Lake processors only, the second revision of the socket is compatible with Coffee Lake processors exclusively.
