* You're right. Didn't realize SB-DT really did refer to Xeon E3. I just remember Haswell-DT referring to desktop Haswell, unless wikipedia was wrong somehow. Anyways, we still have work to do on these pages. What say you about splitting between desktop and mobile parts on the chip tables? --[[Special:Contributions/72.194.88.201|72.194.88.201]] 23:31, 13 November 2017 (EST)

:: We can definitely break down the table into mobile and desktop (possibly need to also add embedded). [Almost] every chip has a [[Property:market segment]] attached to it. All that would need to be done is to add "<nowiki>[[market segment::Desktop]]</nowiki>" to one of the tables and Mobile in the second table. Tables generally follow the [[WikiChip:styling#Comparison_Table|style shown here]]. --[[User:At32Hz|At32Hz]] ([[User talk:At32Hz|talk]]) 01:03, 14 November 2017 (EST)

Issues with some changes[edit]

You've made some changes I want to discuss.

  • The first one is this. Sandy Bridge DT refers to Bromolow platform which eventually end up being marketed as Entry 1S Xeon E3 parts. See this roadmap.
  • The second one is Kaby Lake R. Since Intel considers it a refresh of Kaby Lake, we also consider it part of the Kaby Lake microarchitecture. In the "succession" category we usually keep microarchitectures and "core names" separate. With that respect "R" succeeds "U" (both being a derivative of the Kaby Lake microarchitecture).

We can definitely break down the table into mobile and desktop (possibly need to also add embedded). [Almost] every chip has a Property:market segment attached to it. All that would need to be done is to add "[[market segment::Desktop]]" to one of the tables and Mobile in the second table. Tables generally follow the style shown here. --At32Hz (talk) 01:03, 14 November 2017 (EST)
