Succession

OLCF-6 (Discovery) is the successor to Frontier, a planned exascale supercomputer that will be operated by the DoE Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Discovery is expected to go into operation in the 2023-2024 timeframe and will feature a peak performance of 2 to 4 exaFLOPS.

History

Discovery is part of Oak Ridge 10-year facility plan. Expected to be delivered around the 2027-2028 timeframe, the system will have around 2 to 4 exaFLOPS.
